After a couple of years of social distancing, the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care are looking forward to seeing each other face to face again at the 19th annual European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Congress from 2-4 June 2022 in Ghent, Belgium.
The European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, ECVECC, was founded in 2014 following approval by the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS). The College’s formation was instigated and fully supported by (EVECCS).
Since one of EVECCS’ core aims has always been “to promote the study, development, and practice of veterinary emergency medicine and critical patient care in Europe,” the formation of a Speciality College was recognised as an important goal for the Society. In 2009, EVECCS established an ad hoc College Organising Committee (COC). This committee was tasked with working towards the foundation of a Speciality College under EBVS approval establishing ECC as a full fledged veterinary specialty in Europe. The mission of this new found college is to advance the knowledge and high standards of practice in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine in Europe and increase the competency of those who practice in this discipline.
