Veterinary curriculum
To pass your diploma, you need to acquire the skills, knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills defined in the professional activity and skills framework.
These skills can be attained by :
- Obtaining the Diplôme d’Etudes Fondamentales Vétérinaires (DEFV) at the end of 8 semesters of theoretical, practical and clinical teaching (240 ECTS)
- Validation of the sixth year of advanced studies, which is almost exclusively devoted to practical work and enables students to develop their skills in one of the following areas
- Clinical activities in the production animal sector
- Clinical activities in the companion animal sector
- Clinical activities in the equine sector,
- Veterinary public health
- Activities in the research sector
- Activities in the business sector
- The defence of a thesis leading to the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
These different stages are challenging and require rigour, maturity, perseverance and openness. These are difficult studies that require total commitment from everyone.
Procedure for withdrawal:
A student who wishes to resign from the veterinary course writes a letter to the Director, explaining why he or she has decided to do so. They are interviewed several times by DEVE staff and by the Education Director. The resignation is only definitive after a period of reflection.
As tuition fees are due for the academic year, they are not refunded in case of withdrawal (after full enrolment) (see article 15 of the order of 2 August 2022 setting the amount of tuition fees in public agricultural higher education establishments for the 2022-2023 academic year).
